During this week ,we are preparing our final A2 size presentation and these five ideas all from 101 ideas.

This one is the basic idea of final idea , we find if the bag with balloon,the school bag will be lighten , but the school bag with balloon is not convenient ,so we change the balloon into Helium ,our group think this idea  will really helps students to lighten their bags and stuffs, it is good for their body.

For this week we also made a mind map about 101 Solutions For Heavy School Bag. It's very interesting and imagination. We make a lot of ideas, like we need robots, flying bags, super light backpack's materials ,having an adult to carry for the students,train your pet to carry bags, no textbooks needed(all books are installed on ipad), act.  After we finish our mind map ,we share our mind map to other teams ,and our leader communicate about it with their members, also we have looked three groups mind map,we have listened to there explanation and share our ideas to them at the same time. In short ,we enjoy ourselves and learn a lot in this class!

We were started to learn and write about entity, the things about empathising our problem, which is always Children's bags are too heavy, and we also shared about our individual persona experiences from seeing the parents, teachers, and children's point of view.

My personal experience of being the stakeholder that i chose was being parents. Its still in the case that nowadays the children's bags are too heavy.When we are looking for a variety of learning methods to improve students' learning efficiency, we tend to overlook the basic skills training, ignoring the basic law of memory.

When we have been Shouting to burden to the child, to reduce the weight of the bag, but didn't notice the textbooks and workbook is now more and more luxurious, word is more and more big, the gap is more and more wide.There is balance between the interests and public welfare, education is not a business.

In addition, many primary and middle school students bag, apart from school textbooks, but also to buy books back withparents. Some parents allow their children to take the books study at any time in the bag, which added a lot of weight to the child's school bag.

"The bag is overweight, and poor self-care ability of children." A primary schoolteacher said, many children lack of self-care ability, especially the high grade students, most parents won't help clean the bag, rely on the child consciously.However, some children do not know how to timely cleaning bag, be, a lot of"rubbish" also hidden inside, the result is getting heavier, suffer myself. There are some students would art class need to brush, weiqi, musical instruments orinterest classes are always put them in your bag, occupy a lot of weight.

At present, some famous schools, students' class volume is larger, and the old,many students the book Hall breakage, students' Dictionary tools such as bookscan only take back and forth in the body.

Besides that, we learned some of the research methodologies. There are interview, forum, articles, bibliography, and case study.
What i just discussed with my team mates were about the case study, which in Indonesia we called it Studi lapangan. It comes form the frame questions that have been phrased before then formed into the questions that soon to be used as the chapters and research methods for our report.

This is a report about lockers and other school facilities

Endeavour Primary School hopes to use the highly interactive environment in the No Heavy School Bag programme to nurture pupils' personal development, and cultivate qualities such as curiosity and confidence. English teacher Mrs Agnes Choh remarks, "The pupils are very much more engaged and interested in their work during No Heavy School Bag classes! Quite a few pupils have shown a change; they are keen to try out new things, improve their skills and are eager to improve on their work."

Legends come to life as pupils explore literary classics through animation.

Mr Jahangeer Md Jahabar, the head of department for Mathematics, observes, "Some pupils have no voice in the usual class setting. But through the No Heavy School Bag programme, they become more confident in contributing to class discussions which are posted online. We see pupils who are weaker in the subject participating in the Mathematics blog, sharing their solutions and posting questions."

As for the original intention of the programme - to lighten the load of pupils' schoolbags - it has succeeded on days when No Heavy School Bag classes are held and no textbooks are needed. However, the programme is still in its pilot phase, and these classes comprise a small part of the curriculum and are used to complement standard classroom teaching. The school plans to implement the programme on a larger scale in the near future.

Nonetheless, the vision of a textbook-free environment has already been planted in pupils' minds. Pri 5 pupil Ahmad Dzaki Bin Osman quips, "I look forward to having all my lessons like those in No Heavy School Bag rooms in the future - with textbooks on the internet so that we don't have to bring anything at all!"

Schools who provide storage facilities, may dispense with textbooks students need to bring every day applications, exercise books, stationery, utensils, water bottles or other items to and from school. The school should review the adequacy of storage devices, such as lockers, bookcases, shelves, etc.; and, if possible within the available space, because of the school's budget should, purchase the right amount of equipment.

Home school student lockers should strengthen the training students to use lockers to store items of good habits, and to ensure the proper and effective use of student lockers.

Schools may also consider using student desk drawer.

Should a good story have a sad or happy ending? What kind of sound effects go best with exciting scenes? These are some of the questions that race through Pri 5 pupil Muhammad Nabil's mind as he creates his own digital book during a Malay Language class at Endeavour Primary School. "I feel like a film director! I have to come up with my own storyline and choose the sound effects and animation," he says. "It's really, really fun."

"Fun" is the first word that pops up when Endeavour Primary School pupils talk about the pilot No Heavy School Bag programme their school. During lesson time, there are no textbooks in sight because learning takes place in a largely virtual environment, complemented by hands-on activities.

The idea for the No Heavy School Bag programme was raised in 2008 and the school implemented the pilot phase in 2009 and 2010. To kick things off, the school created six No Heavy School Bag rooms where English Language, Chinese Language, Malay Language, Mathematics, Science and Art are taught using digital resources and various teaching aids. Nabil's Malay Language lessons take place in one of these rooms.

A different kind of classroom

Every term, his class explores literature from a different culture, such as Aesop's Fables and the Indian epic Ramayana. This term, the story of legendary Malay hero Hang Tuah took centre stage. In the No Heavy School Bag environment, this is how it was used to enhance pupils' Malay language skills:

Thanks to the interactive environment of the programme, pupils are keen to try out new things and improve their skills.

First, the teacher introduces the story to the class, reading them only its beginning. Next, pupils have to decide how the story should continue and end. Using the e-book software KooBits, every child creates a digital book, complete with animation and sounds, to tell his or her own story of Hang Tuah. When that is done, the original ending of the legend is revealed. Pupils will also stage their own shadow-puppet play to tell the story with puppets that they have made.

"This really aids in teaching the language, especially in composition writing, "says Nabil's teacher Mdm Rosalina. "The pupils learn how to tell a story. Their language skills improve too."

As for the pupils, they've never found it more fun to learn Malay. "Thursday is my favourite school day," gushes Pri 5 pupil Nirohshaa Chandra Shaharan. "It's the day for No Heavy School Bag Malay lessons, which are very fun and challenging, especially when I create my own stories and make them different from everyone else's."

Chinese Language is among the six subjects taught using digital resources and teaching aids.

Currently, the No Heavy School Bag programme is implemented only for Pri 3 and Pri 4 pupils, and up to Pri 5 for Malay Language. One of the biggest challenges in rolling out the programme is to help teachers and pupils to learn and master the different software and equipment available in the special classrooms.

However, once teachers and pupils learn the ropes, virtual learning becomes an engaging reality. Says Pri 3 pupil Leon Tan, "It is more fun and interesting than in a normal classroom. For English, we use software like KooBits to make our own e-book and Audacity software to record our oral readings. For Mathematics, we blog our answers to questions and play maths games. In Science lessons, we use the Knowledge Forum and Wikispaces to share what we learn."

Topic​​​: Children’s schoolbag is too heavy

Description​​:

Nowadays majority of children who go to school face the problem of heavy schoolbags. Surveys have shown that considerable number of students from primary to secondary schools often carry bags that are more than 10% body weight. The negative consequences have been yielded such as pain in back, shoulders and neck and in some cases scoliosis for young children. The first step of approaching this was to identify the stakeholders of it and continued by considering all possible factors that may have contributed in creating the problem.

Empathizing was the next step to gain a better understanding of each stakeholder’s perspective of this problem. To research into specific problems, we created framed design question to identify possible problems for which solutions can be designed to solve the problems. Here is the list of our design questions:

- What is the availability of ergonomically designed bag in the market?

- What is the price range of ergonomics school bags?

- Why are school books’ designs bulky?

- What is the percentage of school providing locker facility or book/laptop rental facility?

STUDENGT SCHOOL BAG IS HEAVY (week 1)

  Our topic is about 'student school bag is heavy' , as for this topic we get 7 different points(students behaviour , parents , bag;s quality , school facility , transportations , teachers , curriculum).
   In class we get a speech about this topic ,I talk about student behaviour , as for hard working student a lot of them put their study materials and books in good order , and they always have tuition class , so their bags become more and more heavier . As for lazy student , because they are too lazy , so they just put everything in their school bag , and their bags also become more and more heavier.
    For this speech ,I feel very nervous , and  my team give me a hand make me feel confident , pretty thanks for my team mates.
